The last section of biblical entrepreneurship we must discuss is influence. Influence is the foundation of power. External power is cultivated by increasing your influence with people and industries. As biblical entrepreneurs, we must use our influence to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom, to encourage ethical practices within our industries, and to promote a righteous lifestyle within individuals.
How does a person create influence? It is a by- product of trust. Trust is created when people believe that you have their best interest in mind when you are encouraging, correcting and making decisions. Trust is also developed when others see that you are consistent in your words and deeds. Integrity and having others’ best interest in mind produces trustworthiness. You must be worthy of receiving people’s trust.
Another component of influence is wealth. A person that has wealth and assets has the ability to influence governments, industries, and people. The Bible declares in Ecclesiastes 10:19 that “money answereth all things”. A biblical entrepreneur has the capability to have her wealth to speak for her within the marketplace to promote righteous business practice. Ecclesiastes 7:12 also proclaims that “money is a defense”. Biblical entrepreneurship encourages paying employees descent wages therefore defending the enterprise’s reputation in the eyes of consumers, employees, and government officials.
Now let us deal with empowering people to transform their lives in order to become righteous individuals. Biblical entrepreneurs are trailblazers and standard bearers of being holy within their industry. Christians within the global marketplace are to model godly character in all transactions. Their deeds will be able to testify that righteousness is the only way. Biblical entrepreneurs must display a lifestyle of holiness so they can spread the Gospel of the Kingdom to those whom they interact with. As believers in Christ, our characters must line up with our words if we are to be effective in spreading the Gospel. The purpose of creating influence is to promote the good news about King Jesus coming to earth with his kingdom so people’s lives can be changed.
Jesus the Christ used His influence to change the religious climate within the Roman empire. Jesus’ ministry changed millions of lives by displaying a new standard known as Kingdom Authority and Righteous. Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom instead of doctrines of traditions. The Gospel of the Kingdom transforms lives and man made doctrines keeps people in bondage. To be a biblical entrepreneur we must use our influence to change the standard within our industries by living Kingdom principles.

Most business owners do not have any marketing plans. Marketing plans are very important to have for a business. Marketing is the key to sales. No marketing, no sales, it’s that simple. Having a variety of marketing plans going at one time gives you more leverage and more exposure. It also helps you see what is working and what is not working in your marketing campaigns. Having only one marketing plan in action can actually hurt your business. Let’s say your marketing plan proves to be ineffective, you must then build a whole new marketing plan and start from scratch. Now let’s say you have multiple marketing plans working at once, you now have a variety of results to look at. Then you can pick and choose what works and what doesn’t work. Marketing is all about testing/trial and error.
Many business owners make some key mistakes when creating their marketing plans. First they expect their first marketing campaign to be a huge success. Now this may or may not happen but marketing is all about trial and error. You must learn from your marketing plans. You must look and see what worked and what did not work. Then adjust your marketing plans and start a new campaign. This is how you market effectively. It’s all about trial and error. Let say you see a certain ad pulling in all kinds of new business. Before you jump the gun and throw your entire bankroll behind the ad, run a couple additional tests to see how well the ad pulls in different markets. You want to do as much testing as possible before you come out with a major marketing campaign. Once you have everything as it should be, take full advantage of your marketing efforts.
Another key mistake I see with many business owners is they have either no way of tracking their marketing campaigns or they do not track their marketing campaigns. Not tracking your marketing efforts is bad for business. You must be able to see what is working and what is not working. Then you can stop spending in certain areas and increase spending in areas which are working. You must track your marketing campaigns in order to produce the most amount of sales for your business. Yes you can still have an effective business without tracking your marketing but it is kind of like cutting a steak with a butter knife.Yes it is possible to cut a steak with a butter knife but you make cutting the steak so much more difficult. Just like not tracking your marketing campaigns.
Building effective marketing plans is vital to building a business. Marketing is a key component to business. You should always have a budget setup just for your marketing efforts. I cannot stress how important marketing is to any business planning to become successful. I would even go as far as hiring a marketing company, if you have no experience in creating effective marketing plans.

Everyone agrees on a broad level that small businesses are vital to the American economy. However, most people would be surprised to know just how important. The United States Small Business Administration keeps records and statistics on small business in the United States and some of their findings are surprising.
First, the typical perception of a small business as a mom and pop operation with just a few, if any, employees is not the entire picture. The Small Business Administration defines a small business as an independently business with less than 500 employees. There are an estimated 23 million businesses in the United States that meet that classification. In some smaller towns in the United States, these businesses represent a major source of employment.
In fact, small businesses as defined by the Small Business Administration represent 99.7 percent of all the employers in the country and employ half of all private sector employees. More than 45% of the private sector payroll is generated by small business. Over the last decade small businesses have accounted for 60 to 80% of all new jobs created on an annual basis.
Although a large percentage of small businesses are in the retail and service sectors, small businesses are rapidly making gains in the technology sector. 41% of high tech workers like engineers, scientists and computer programmers are employed by small businesses. Employees at small businesses produce 13 to 14 times more patents than those employed by larger companies.
The Small Business Administration also offers some interesting observations on small business survival. Two-thirds of small businesses survive for at least two years declining to 44% after four years. Most of the factors that support a small business surviving are well known, such as access to capital and owner’s education level. However, a lesser known factor in small business survival is that the business is large enough to have employees.
Similarly, barriers to starting a small business include lack of access to start-up capital and lack of education. However, the number one barrier to small business start up and a primary concern of existing small business owners is access to private health insurance. Individual health insurance for sole proprietors is much more expensive than receiving coverage through an employer. If a small business owner is able to offer health insurance to its employees, the administrative and premium costs are often much higher than those for larger businesses.

Entrepreneurship is a business trend which for the last 30 years has gone mostly undetected. It is advancing more today than ever before in American history and is not likely to diminish as the country retools for the new economy. It might be helpful to understand something about entrepreneurs if you want to join their ranks.
The New Oxford Dictionary defines entrepreneur as “a person who sets up a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.” Most business schools are still geared to the BIG corporations, so the typical MBA can’t make a small business work. Fortune Magazine now publishes a small business edition; banks are creating special departments for small business, etc. It might surprise you to learn that women are the fastest-growing segment among entrepreneurs, and Hispanic women are the fastest-growing of all.
Our Founding Fathers were entrepreneurs who financed the American Revolution to back up their principles expressed in the Declaration of Independence, and the freedoms of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They never considered Americans would ever be composed of anything but independent business people.
In the early days, there was no assembly line and no automation. Notwithstanding that our forefathers engaged in slavery and a few bigger businesses took root in major cities, the majority of Americans were in business for themselves and our country was dominated by entrepreneurs who tamed the West.
Beginning with the Industrial Revolution around the time of the Civil War, we slowly started moving toward being a country of employees. As this trend continued, people moved into large cities to be near the big factories and the companies that serviced these workers. Our school systems started to focus on training people to be employees and our schools began to resemble factories, starting and ending the children’s “shift” with the ringing bell.
Generally, people become entrepreneurs to pursue a passion in life and to control their own destiny, but a lot of entrepreneurs have joined the movement simply to be free of the confines of being an employee.
Unfortunately, people start a business of their own, often without a workable business plan. Worse, they fail to clarify their purposes. They don’t set adequate clear policy, which kills them as they try to expand. The errors and mistakes cascade from there.
The end result is that new entrepreneurs start out running their business and end up with their business running them. Their lives go out of balance.
There is a common reason for this. Most people who take the leap and go into business for themselves are skilled at only a few of the things a business owner has to know. There is a lot to know to make a business work; skills in leadership, personnel, sales and marketing, finance, quality control and PR are all required in addition to expertise in the company’s products or services. This could also be the primary reason that a high percentage of new businesses go under each year – not “under-financing” as frequently gets the blame. But it is true, when the economy gets tough, as it has recently, the things one doesn’t know really become a threat and funds to make a go of it can become very scarce without careful management of the business.
There are systems that can be learned to deal successfully with the problem areas, and if you use them, you can make entrepreneurship a very rewarding activity. Perhaps the happiest and most successful businesspeople around are those who manage to master each of the skills needed to run a successful business. Accomplishing that, they are free to concentrate on what they like to do most. Sound enticing? For some, I will wager nothing could be better. It is up to you.

The best marketing plan has to have the idea of staying on top of the market with frequent updates and analyst opinions for one thing. Another thing to do is to compare sectors and find research on more than sixty industries. Otherwise you won’t have any idea which one to invest in. Furthermore, to better meet your own needs get a wide range of advice from professionals on your research choices.
Learn how to grab people’s attention on your ideas. Find out what will motivate them in order to go along with your marketing idea.
Earn the customer’s confidence, talk to them tell them all the facts and statistics. If they seem confused, ask which part is confusing them and clarify what the problem is. Let them know the advantages of your marketing idea and how it will work.
Let the public get to know who you are. This way you have credibility and more people will listen to you and perhaps join you in your marketing endeavors. Include the selling points of your idea or product and get those who are “on board” with you on your marketing plan involved.
Discern the point of the product being cost-effective eventually, which will in turn produce a profit.
Be sincere, and honest. Don’t talk about a lot of maybe this, or maybe when that type sentences. Speak positively.
Let the proposal of procrastinating on the decision of an idea or product for a marketing plan go out the window, end it before it gets started. Let those interested know to “act now” so as its not too late. Get them in on the ground floor and offer them a decent profit as well.
Talk about promotional goals and advertising of the product. Things that should be done; as well as those things that must be done in order for your idea or product to make it in the marketing industry.
Use all the facts, even the negative points, however back these up with the potential of positive thinking on the part of the idea of the product as part of your marketing plan.
Be energetic about it being the best marketing plan, and how it is going to affect other people.
Together, create a business plan that will in fact make it the best marketing plan and then act on the plan. Use strategy whenever possible, such as tools available and goals you want to achieve.
The best marketing plans are thought through, and followed through, this is what makes the profit. When considering an idea or product for a marketing plan, always write out your details, for questions later. If you need to invest in an analyst just for the simple fact of letting others know you do in fact have an idea or product for the best marketing plan available to the,. People won’t invest in a marketing plan that is shaky. Or one that they have no idea about the details; and how it is going to make them money too.
Simplify technical terms, making it easier to understand. Make up booklets or brochures on your idea or product that people can refer back to in making their decision. Let the brochure explain also, how your idea or product is the best marketing plan they could invest in and make money in the process, once all the goals are met.
